Roxana Guardado

Roxana is studying the effects of small-scale hydromodification projects (i.e. bank armoring) on stream ecosystems in Southern California. During summer 2010 she led a field team that collected benthic macroinvertebrates and physical habitat data from three reaches (upstream, within, and downstream of bank modification structures) in each of six streams. She also plans to investigate the effects of hydromodification on riparian vegetation and amphibian assemblages. Her research is funded by the Southern California Coastal Water Research Project.
